Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Typically, the earlier a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a web site web presence.

|
|
Search engine optimization for small businesses that are targeting local search is relatively straightforward because local search has less competition, a focused scope, and easier maintenance. In order to generate great results when you are optimizing a small business website, it can be helpful to refer to a checklist to ensure that you are meeting your objectives. Here is a helpful checklist for small businesses to go over when they are optimizing their own websites or receiving SEO services.

Now you know the definition, lets tackle about the types. There are two types actually - On-Page and Off-Page Optimization.
On-Page Optimization - it deals with the proper use of title tags, meta tags, description, keywords, sitemap and h1/h2 tags.
Off-Page Optimization - it deals with building links. |
