| Ban the Copy/Paste Merchants? |
|
|
Sad to say but I think the Copy/Paste merchants are fast killing this site. I think that's a shame as there used to be some good bant and info over here...
So the question is should we ban all the users who are ruining this forum? And what else can be done to reinvigorate SEO1.net?

I think to 'Ban' is maybe a bit harsh for sharing your OWN articles, Some people contribute content that they have written for their websites and wish to share, If you're looking for content for your website then i suppose its handy. Maybe we should have a forum simply for that purpose? With a article submission limit in place. BUT if people search google for articles to post over and over then yes they should be banned. Personally i would'nt use a recycled article on my directory or any of my websites but some people do.
Also, im sick and tired of seeing indian web design, web hosting, dating etc websites just using this forum to spam their links. Not one of these people post a genuine question therefore get ignored but they still clog the boards with utter crap, quoting other members and saying "I Agree" and thats their whole post with over 100 charaters, upping their post count and side-wide link.
I think we could all help raise seo1.net's profile by adding links to our own websites and spreading the word without spamming.
I think the forum needs a bigger moderator team and an official SEO1 support team who can dedicate some time to the forum, removing stupid posts and keeping the forum in order. When Rakesh posted all those 70 spam topics they were there for days, genuine guests would take one look and go away without even thinking about registering. Its a shame.
These spam posts had enough time on the website to be indexed by the search engines too and cached. What makes me laugh too is that he is still here with a shorter name posting what can be only be described as hogwash stolen fresh from Google searches. More moderators would have been handy here. I PM'ed both Andrew and yourself about these spam posts on the first day he started, A moderator could have just sorted it out and banned him and his IP address but his posts remained for a couple of days.
Anyway, Thats what i think.

a ban would be a bit to harsh a moderator who would be checking the forum on the daily bases and delete all the copy/paste is better and would encourage the people to be more original rather then keep paste stuff to add to their posts. |

I suggest dont ban them because they are new in forums. I think better if the moderator can delete the message who had been copied and then paste. in the forum.
But if they are spammer. better banned them. |
