Is Keyword Density, Proximity and Prominence Important?

The Leader New Member Joined: 03 Oct 2009 Good Posts: 12 Is Keyword Density, Proximity and Prominence Important?     We all know content is King because if you have the words then there may be a search for it but is all the stuff about density, proximity, and prominence a load of crap. Does having a keyword denistiy of 10% make your site rank higher in serps than a density of 0.5%? Does having high proximity or promince make the slight difference to serps? Hard and fast rules that suggest 5, 10 or 12.5% keyword density are misleading. However, don't expect to rank for a keyword phrase that you don't feature on your website.
