Blogging For Traffic Effectively  Reply with quote

This was asked of me elsewhere, and I though it might prove useful to SEO1, if not to simply open a specific discussion:
We have a business, and we've written many blogs pertaining to our business. We wish to send these blogs throughout the US to draw traffic to our website. How do we go about this? We need a step by step guide explaining what to do and why it needs to be done so we understand the process clearly.

My Reply
A few things to keep in mind when creating web-relevance and blogged values is that you not tread too close to the edge of "white SEO" and into "black hat SEO" and other punitive labels the SE's are very quick to label site with. You can see how some of the 20 methods mentioned here might specifically apply to distributing duplicative content via blogs (i.e. Sybil, etc.)
It is a tedious art to composing supporting relevancy and placing it strategically, and there really isn't one hard and fast rule. The rule of thumb (as I've mentioned earlier) to seek and find complimentary sites that in your own evaluation holds comparable relevance to your site is simply one of the most reliable methods to follow as any.

Ask yourself questions like if you would expect to see your links on a site like this, or would it look out of place to you? Is there too much of a difference in the sites themselves (one obviously more professional than the other), or are they really in competition? And so on.

The more natural your own evaluation is, the more natural (and preferred) your SE values will be assigned.
