Google Juggernaut Rolls On with $1.64 billion profits  Reply with quote

The Google money making machine rolls on despite recessionary drag. The search engine monster delivered profits of $1.64 billion in the 3 months to September. Revenues totalled $5.94 billion up from $5.25 billion the previous quarter.

A billion here, a billion there and you're soon talking real money.

As the results were announced Google CEO Eric Schmidt also said the company was on the lookout for strategic acquisitions. Despite a recent buying spree Google remains heavily dependent on Google Adwords for most of its revenue.

Further analysis on the Google Quarter 3 results can be found here:http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/markets/article6877310.ece

This article reveals that although pay per click traffic rose 14%, average cost per click fell by 6%. This is good news after many years of click cost inflation.

That is just an amazing obscence amount of money and gives them enough money to buy out anything that threatens their existance like youtube! It would be nice of them to increase the earnings for the adsense users!

Google and Diversification  Reply with quote

Google's Eric Schmidt obviously recognises that the company remains highly dependent on Google Adwords for its revenue. Many of the non-search activities are yet to yield any return.

Link Bait  Reply with quote

Do I smell some link bait or are Google really diversifying out of this world? I think they should be happy dominating the Internet.
